Welcome to another episode of New Music Friday. Kenyan artists have been breathing fresh air into the Kenyan music scene. Lets dive in and have a look at these new sounds.
1.Naiboi X Iyanii – Ananitaka
This is not just a banger but a top collaboration from two talented musicians. Iyanii and Naiboi both have a different touch and unique styles. Naiboi looks like he has a lot in store for his fans after a long hiatus. His comeback is now seen as rapid with Ananitaka being his second release in less than a week. Teaming up with Iyanii gives a touch of arbantone and new skool . Well the official music video is on Naiboi worldwide.
2. Nameless ft Maandy – Nonstop
A surprise collaboration is how I will term Non Stop by Nameless and Maandy. The new track is a blend of old school and new skool energy . This serves as fresh energy from the hyper Maandy who is big on her party bangers. Non Stop is a big track with lots of energy and dance . I bet this will take over club floors and dj mixes. The track is already at 38,000 views and counting. Have a look.
3. Ethic Entertainment – Zama
Ethic seems to mean nothing but serious business in their comeback. Barely two weeks of the release of Ukitaka, the east boyz are onto a consistent journey with their new release Zama. The song is at 200,000 views at the moment. This comes after they hit the million views mark on their recent release. Is Ethic trying to prove gengetone is taking over again?
4. Ssaru X Wakadinali – Weza
This is new collaboration that we did not see coming. Weza by Ssaru featuring Wakadinali is a blend of hardcore rap and Ssaru’s vibrant Genge sound. The song is a paid promotion with the two working together with a betting company. Now 6 days old , it has over 325k views on YouTube. Weza is currently trending at #4.
5. Ochungulo Family – Zero Distance
The gengetone era is gradually coming back and it seems its here to stay. Ochungulo family are back with new track Zero Distance . The video is out on YouTube with over 290k views in just 6 days . Rate the new song out of 10?
