Rose Muhando has released a new track Ameanguka Tii/Amina. This is a refix of her original song Amina which went viral on Tiktok. Choreographer Scotty Bigg did a parody of the song and he broke the internet due to the mimicking of Rose Muhando in the original song. The challenge spread like bush fire in both Kenya and Tanzania which prompted people to go back and listen to the original song.

Amina is off Rose Muhando’s album Jipange SawaSawa which was released in 2008. The song is an energetic praise Song to God acknowledging him for his sovereignty. The phrase “Ameanguka Tii” loosely translated to “They’ve Fallen Flat” became a social media sensation as creators dramatically mimicked spiritual deliverance scenes; pairing them with exaggerated falls and urgent calls for prayer. Creators and various social media users have also used the trend in dramatic falls. What began as a humorous trend has now traversed across within East Africa.

Sensing the momentum and relevance of the viral phrase, Rose Muhando revisited the track giving it a new sound. Ameanguka Tii shows the distinction between then and now as it features Gen Z dancers together with Scotty Bigg who brings his trend to life. Amina channels the intensity of spiritual warfare, echoing themes familiar in Muhando’s discography that is rebuking evil, seeking divine intervention and celebrating God’s power.

When compared to her earlier works such as the original song, it’s clear that Muhando has adapted to the times without losing her gospel essence. This track is both a refix and a reinvention bridging the gap between traditional gospel fans and the digital generation.

TikTok plays a huge role in influencing music as it continues to bring throwback jams to life. Muhando’s response to the trend proves that even gospel icons can ride the wave of viral moments. The gospel powerhouse has been supporting Scoty Bigg as well as participating in the challenge herself. Rose Muhando boasts of over a million Subscribers on YouTube proving that she is indeed a gospel queen. Amina is currently trending #15 on Tanzania’s Youtube music charts.
