Brian Muchina Malomba is no stranger in the Kenyan radio scene. Muchina hosts Maloko show on Kiss Fm with his co-host Cyd Wambui. Maloko is premium Kenyan music show that celebrates Kenyan artists and music. Recently , the station saw the exit of their breakfast hosts Kwambox and Kerry who had an emotional goodbye. After their exit ,Muchina has taken on the morning show. It has not been clear whether he will be taking over the breakfast show.
Muchina is a firstborn son from a family of two as he refers himself as a “village boy.” Hailing from Bungoma county , Muchina developed an interest in the media space from a young age where he would read news in front of the class. Later, he pursued radio at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication. Muchina started out with ordinary jobs as a customer service and later a news reporter. In the quest to look for a job, the radio presenter recalls job searching for 6 years. He was in a state of despair where he had gone to neighboring Tanzania to look for a job. Muchina reminisces his hustling days where all the top radios in the country were asking him for experience.

Almost giving up, Muchina had conclude that he will relocate to Namibia where he will go figure out his life. However , life took an unexpected turn where his friend told him of Radio Africa Group that was hiring presenters. He says that he submitted his application with his heart out of it. Upon application, Muchina was called in on April 1st for a job offer. Initially, he thought the Human resource was playing with him citing that it was April fools day. This marked Muchina’s entry into the radio scene.
Over the years , Muchina has grown a loyal fanbase with over 155,000 followers on TikTok. His snippets on air resonates with fans as well as major Kenyan music countdown that he runs. Muchina says his fueled by his love for Kenyan music.
Besides doing radio, Muchina is an avid traveler and entrepreneur as he often shares his experiences as he travels the world. His personality brings light to the room as he is a jovial person. He often shares pictures of his grandmother as well us his upcountry home and how he enjoys the countryside. With his debut on the morning drive, Muchina looks like he is set to be the next radio king.
