Meet the Founder, Everlyne Wangui
At the heart of BlockCreative is Everlyne Wangui, a film student at Zetech University who is redefining scriptwriting through technology. Born in Thika and raised in Kangemi and different parts of Nairobi, Everlyne’s early education took her to N.Y.S Huduma Academy in Machakos County and later Machakos Girls’ High School. Her deep interest in storytelling led her to pursue film studies, where she developed a keen eye for the challenges that writers and producers face in the industry.
“I love film. I fell in love with creativity, so I thought of a way to bring the creativity I feel I hold to life. Since I have always loved film, I knew it would be my best channel. I made the decision to become a filmmaker, and now I am completing my filmmaking course very soon.”

Her journey into Web3 and blockchain technology began towards the end of last year, when she started exploring how decentralized systems could transform creative industries.
“Towards the end of last year I got interested in Blockchain and joined the web 3 ecosystem in Kenya. Right now I am building web 3 stuffs just trying to integrate media in most of my projects.”

As a media student in Kenya, Everlyne Wangui has witnessed firsthand the struggles of local filmmakers and scriptwriters in getting their work recognized. Many talented writers, including herself, face the challenge of not knowing where to take their scripts, whom to trust, or how to protect their intellectual property. “I have had some magnificent ideas, some I have scripted, while others just get lost in my head,” she admits. “The reason being, I don’t know what to do with these ideas, who to take the script to, or who to even trust with my work.” This uncertainty, coupled with the fear of idea theft and unpaid work, is a reality that many aspiring writers in Kenya and beyond grapple with.
Determined to find a solution, Everlyne discovered blockchain technology, a system that could offer transparency, security, and automation in creative collaborations. “When I learned about blockchain and how safe it can keep your work, I realized it could solve these problems,” she explains. This realization led to the birth of BlockCreative, a platform designed to bridge the gap between writers and producers while ensuring that intellectual property is protected.
BlockCreative allows writers and producers to collaborate seamlessly, safeguards a writer’s work, and ensures immediate payment through smart contracts, removing the need for blind trust in industry dealings. What started as a personal struggle has now evolved into a groundbreaking platform set to revolutionize scriptwriting for creatives worldwide. She is on a mission to democratize the scriptwriting industry, ensuring that great stories, no matter where they come from, have a fair shot at reaching the big screen.
The Co-Founder and the Collaborative Effort
Every great innovation requires a strong technical backbone, and for BlockCreative, that role is filled by Abdullahi Abdi, a software engineering student and Project Manager at Nethermind. With a deep understanding of blockchain technology and software development, Abdullahi was the perfect person to help bring Everlyne’s vision to life. “We had known each other for a while, and being a blockchain lead and a friend, I knew he was the right person to run to when the technical stuff overwhelmed me,” Everlyne shares.
In a recent post, Everlyne reflected on her journey into tech, admitting just how far she has come. “When I began, I didn’t even know the Visual Studio Code, people can think it’s a joke,” she shared.
What started as a simple request for help with a landing page and authentication system quickly evolved into something much bigger. Abdullahi’s expertise and dedication led him to develop the entire platform collaborating with Everlyne, solidifying his role as co-founder. “He still says I manipulated him,” Everlyne jokes, emphasizing the organic and collaborative nature of their partnership. Together, their combined skills in media, storytelling, blockchain, and software engineering have transformed BlockCreative from a bold idea into a fully functional platform that is set to redefine scriptwriting in the digital age.

Everlyne recognized the transformative power of AI in modern life and saw its potential to revolutionize scriptwriting. “AI is a big thing in today’s life. It makes our life easier. We know that those who are not going to embrace it the will be left behind. I don’t want to watch that happen to my users. From my personal experience I have learnt that AI is a tool we need to utilize thoroughly.” she explains. Understanding that those who fail to embrace AI risk being left behind, she was determined to integrate it into BlockCreative to give her users a competitive edge.

The top-ranked writer automatically receives payment through a smart contract, an innovative blockchain feature that ensures secure and instant transactions. This eliminates the need for trust-based agreements, protecting writers from exploitation while ensuring producers get high-quality content.

For producers, the platform provides a reliable way to discover exceptional scripts without going through lengthy, subjective evaluation processes. Overcoming Challenges and Achieving Success
Building BlockCreative was no easy feat, especially for Everlyne, who had no prior technical background. “Developing such a platform with no technical background can be a lot. Bearing in mind, I am just a comrade, I was not financially stable, and I burnt out a lot just to get something running,” she recalls. The journey was filled with late-night brainstorming sessions and countless calls with friends who had more technical expertise. However, her determination and ability to connect with the right people made all the difference. Her co-founder, Abdullahi Abdi, stepped in to take charge of the technical side, allowing her vision to take shape without the overwhelming burden of development.
Despite the initial struggles, BlockCreative has been well-received, especially among writers. “Most of the writers I have met had a very positive reception of this project,” Everlyne shares. The enthusiasm from creatives reassured her that she was solving a real problem. With a solid foundation, growing support, and a passionate community, BlockCreative is steadily gaining traction as a game-changer in the scriptwriting industry.
Recognitions and Impact in the Industry
Since its launch, BlockCreative has gained significant recognition in the media and tech industries. On March 22, 2025, the platform was honored by Web3Clubs as one of the best projects during the Cohort 7 Graduation, where both co-founders, Everlyne Wangui and Abdullahi Abdi, were celebrated graduates. This recognition marked a major milestone, reinforcing the platform’s potential to revolutionize scriptwriting.
The Future of BlockCreative
As a young entrepreneur, Everlyne Wangui has found a warm and welcoming space within the blockchain and tech innovation ecosystem. “As a young entrepreneur , I was warmly welcomed to the ecosystem. I think it’s a warm ecosystem to innovators,” she shares. The support and enthusiasm from the community have reinforced her belief that media and technology can work hand in hand to revolutionize industries.
Looking ahead, Everlyne envisions BlockCreative growing into a globally recognized platform for scriptwriters and producers. While the platform is still in its early stages, she is focused on strengthening its foundation before expanding further. “For now, BlockCreative is still very young. I want it to grow some roots, then we will see where to,” she shares.

“In the media space, we have a lot of problems that only we, the media professionals, understand better. Solving a problem you have experienced hits different. I would encourage us to embrace technology fully, then it would be easier to be innovative.”
