Wakadinali further established their position in the Kenyan hip-hop scene at the end of last year. The trio dominated the scene at the UnKut Hip Hop Awards in December 2025, sweeping three major categories: Group of the Year, Album of the Year for Victims of Madness 2.0, and Best Male Lyricist for Scar Mkadinali. This marked a successful year for them as the album itself was a huge success. The group has maintained a consistent presence in the industry since earlier releases such as Victims of Madness and Ndani Ya Cockpit 2, demonstrating a steady growth in their audience and career longevity.

Just a few days into 2026, the group became the second Kenyan act to surpass 1 million Spotify listeners, following Sauti Sol. This shows the commercial success and marks a new peak in their streaming numbers.
What is Wakadinali’s Secret Formula?
In late 2020, Wakadinali dropped Victims of Madness which went on to gather over 8 million streams on Boomplay by 2022. About 3 years later on the 27th of June 2025, the group released the follow-up project, Victims Of Madness 2.0. This gathered 5.7 million streams on Spotify within 7 months of its release. Wakadinali then released the first single off the album, Hizi Stance in late 2023, which became a hit with over 10.3 million views on YouTube.

Victims Of Madness 2.0’S rollout continued in 2024 with the release of Tamashani’s music video. Tracks with strong audience involvement were given priority in the release process, which allowed the project to grow over time. Eventually, in 2025, the album was released in its entirety, which saw the trio broadening their sound. For example Kum Baba, featured a Reggae beat and was even nominated at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
In 2025, the group recorded over 18.9 million streams and 835,000 listeners on Spotify. The members have pursued a number of commercial endeavors in addition to their music career, such as the creation and growth of their liquor brand, Rong Liquor , which just launched its second store. The trio also has a podcast called Real Raw & Rare, where they discuss various topics and have special guests such as Andrew Kibe recently. Additionally, they operate Zozanation which is their very own record label, production house, and media platform for music, videos, and digital content.

Conclusion
Wakadinali have maintained a public persona based on consistency and relatability to the community. Their music touches on social themes. For example, Kuna Siku Youths Wataungana, which predicted Kenyan youth uniting in the June 2024 protests. The dynamic of the crew is based on a combination of different roles: Scar and Sewersydaa offer the lyrical connection, while Domani Munga concentrates on melodic hooks and choruses. The group’s ongoing development and longevity is a case study for upcoming and independent artists in Kenya’s music industry. Read another article here.
